Learned late last night that my manuscript, "Anti-Austerity in the Euro crisis: Modeling Protest Movements through Online-Mobile-Social Media Use and Content" was accepted for publication at the International Journal of Communication. In the above clip I am delivering a talk about this paper at UT-Austin in the European Public Sphere conference that was coordinated by the one and only Professor Homero Gil de Zúñiga. It was really an impressive list of world-leading scholars and I'm very honored to have been a part of that event.
A former professor of mine, Dr. David Nord, once described his publications as children. At the time (as a first-year doctoral student) I didn't quite understand what he meant. But with about thirty or so "children" of my own, it really is something to see how they take on a life of their own, and how each one has an interesting story from idea to publication.
I couldn't be happier to have this manuscript leave the nest, and I think this special issue of IJoC is a lovely home.
Message me if you'd like an advance copy.
